Automation / Systems Engineer – Permanent
* Location: Northampton
* Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 + benefits
We’re supporting a global engineering organisation in their search for an experienced Automation / Systems Engineer to join their Northampton operation on a permanent basis.
The Role:
* Design, develop, and commission automation systems for complex manufacturing and process projects.
* Programming and configuring PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems.
* Provide on‑site and remote support for system integration, troubleshooting, and optimisation.
* Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and project engineering teams to deliver automation solutions on time and to specification.
* Ensure all systems comply with safety, quality, and industry standards.
Experience & Skills Required:
* Proven background as an Automation, Controls, or Systems Engineer.
* Strong hands‑on experience with Siemens PLCs (essential).
* Experience with Rockwell / Allen‑Bradley systems (preferred).
* Knowledge of automation networking and integration with wider manufacturing systems.
* Experience working within high‑speed manufacturing, process, or packaging environments is highly beneficial.
* Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
MUST BE HAPPY TRAVELLING INTERNATIONALLY.
