£463 - £500 per week PAYE (salary is dependent on experience and/or qualifications)

The School and Role
Are you a Psychology Graduate looking for meaningful, hands-on experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), or Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?
This is a rewarding opportunity to join a specialist SEN school in Tameside, supporting pupils with barriers to learning. You’ll play a vital role in helping young people overcome obstacles, build confidence and succeed both academically and emotionally.
In this role, you will:
1. Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEND and SEMH needs
2. Help students develop emotional regulation, behaviour strategies and social skills
3. Support teachers in delivering engaging, structured lessons
4. Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to support their progress
5. Gain valuable experience in education, mental health and child development
This role is ideal if you’re considering a career in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Teaching or Child Mental Health and want real classroom experience that makes an impact.
Requirements:
6. Psychology degree (or working towards one)
7. Experience with children or young people (SEN, education, care or youth work preferred)
8. Strong interest in SEND, SEMH, behaviour or mental health
9. Patient, resilient and confident supporting additional needs
10. Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude
