Behaviour Mentor – Secondary SEMH Setting
Location: Skelmersdale
Contract: Full-time, Term-Time Only

Are you confident, resilient, and passionate about supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are working with a specialist secondary school in Skelmersdale that provides tailored education for pupils who require additional support to manage complex behaviours and barriers to learning.

The school prides itself on creating a structured, nurturing environment where pupils are encouraged to thrive both academically and personally. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a vital role in helping students develop positive coping strategies and succeed in their education.

Key Responsibilities:

* Support pupils with SEMH needs, often on a 1:1 or small group basis.

* De-escalate challenging behaviour and promote positive choices.

* Implement individual behaviour management plans consistently.

* Build trusting, supportive relationships with pupils and staff.

* Work collaboratively with teachers and pastoral teams to maintain a safe and productive learning environment.

About You:

* Experience supporting young people with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour is essential.

* Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.

* Calm, patient and empathetic approach.

* Confident in setting clear boundaries and expectations.

* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable young people.

The Role:

* Full-time, term-time only.

* Temporary contract with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

* September 2025 start date.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
