Core subject (Maths, English, or Science) SEN / SEND Tutors for Young People with SEND, SEMH, and other Additional Educational Needs required in Derbyshire. Multiple positions are available and hiring is ongoing to meet the wide variety of needs we support. We are on a mission to transform the quality of education provided to young people with SEN (Special Education Needs) / SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities). We are increasingly supporting children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties) and SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties). This role is ideal for qualified SEN / SEND teachers who are eager to work via 1:1 tutoring with children and young people with a variety of learning needs in a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed manner.
At Targeted Provision our mission is to raise the standard of educational support offered to vulnerable young people in the UK. We keep the team around the child, and you will be supported throughout every placement by our team of SEN / SEND Support Specialists.
This is a role for candidates who wish to work 1:1 with learners and make a tangible difference in their educational journey, health, safety and well-being.

The SEN / SEND Tutor role
* This role involves providing Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs referred to Targeted Provision
* Referred by local authorities and schools; will require support in educational and social-emotional development
* Provide support through flexible, holistic, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
SEN / SEND Tutor tasks and responsibilities
* Planning each tutoring/mentoring session
* Providing holistic, engaging sessions aligned to the learner’s needs and progress
* Completing lesson reports and providing feedback on progress
SEN / SEND Tutor requirements
* Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS / QTLS)
* Minimum 2 years teaching experience
* Experience working with learners with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD, and other Additional Educational Needs
* Knowledge of safeguarding processes
* Enhanced DBS (assistance with obtaining this at cost if needed)
* Two professional references
* Right to work in the UK (remote/online work included)
* Ability to promote health, safety and wellbeing of children and young people and follow safeguarding policies
SEN / SEND Tutor Employment Status
* Engagement as a Worker for short-term engagements as they arise
* Contract for service; paid via PAYE
* No set amount of work or expenses coverage
* Insurance covers the work you do for us
* This is not a self-employed tutoring/teaching position
