An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and driven therapy assistant to join our Medical Specialities Therapy team as a Band 4 therapy assistant. The team supports and provides care to patients across a variety of medical specialties.
You will work under the guidance of physiotherapists and occupational therapists, assisting patients with rehabilitation and supporting their safe discharge from the hospital. You will also be expected to hold a small caseload under supervision.
This post offers a rewarding opportunity for someone with previous healthcare experience to work within a therapy team. You will receive support to develop your skills in therapy interventions for patients across medical specialties, with access to in-service training, regular supervision, and support.
Key responsibilities include gathering patient history information, ordering equipment, following up on exercise plans established by therapists, and working as an essential team member in the Multi-Disciplinary Team. You will also participate in a 7-day service.

Main duties of the job
1. Provide skilled routine and non-routine clinical and technical support to the Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy teams and clerical staff.
2. Accept patients allocated by the Therapists, assess, and treat according to protocols and guidelines. Monitor patient progress and modify interventions as needed.
3. Work independently with access to supervision, maintaining close communication with the team to facilitate patient care.
4. Organize and participate in team induction and in-service training programs, providing routine in-service training to colleagues.
5. Perform other duties as deemed necessary by the Lead Clinician to ensure adequate service provision.
