Crime and Intelligence Analyst
Salary: £28k - £33.5K based on experience, with benefits including company pension, life assurance, cycle to work scheme, discount scheme, and more.
Working hours: 37.5 hours per week.
Job Purpose
To deliver reliable, actionable intelligence concerning crime and security threats to the client, aiming to identify criminal behaviour impacting loss and safety, and contribute to creating a safe environment for staff and customers.
Scope of the Role
Provide high standards of intelligence collation, evaluation, and analysis to influence decision makers internally and with law enforcement partners.
Key Responsibilities
1. Merge intelligence from various sources and draw conclusions based on client needs.
2. Analyze crime trends and present actionable intelligence to manage security resources.
3. Identify POIs and OCGs threatening the client, managing cases towards convictions.
4. Create intelligence products to identify risks to retail operations.
5. Recommend deployment of security resources.
6. Present intelligence and evidence to leadership and law enforcement.
7. Share intelligence with stakeholders including law enforcement.
8. Innovate in crime threat intelligence to enhance organizational reputation.
9. Engage with internal and external customers to understand operational needs.
10. Ensure GDPR and quality standards compliance.
11. Implement actions to protect the business and ensure compliance.
12. Coordinate with support functions for effective workflow.
13. Provide training and briefings as needed.
14. Complete ad-hoc projects and tasks as directed.
15. Build relationships with police and enforcement agencies for prosecution opportunities.
Key Skills and Experience
* Expertise in big-data analysis, proficient in Microsoft Office, Power BI, crime databases.
* Experience in writing strategic and tactical reports.
* Knowledge of organized crime and loss prevention in retail.
* Strong communication skills, capable of engaging senior leadership.
* Customer-focused with relationship-building skills.
* Good educational background, fluent in English.
* Ability to work under pressure, fast-paced environment experience.
* Reliable, discreet, with solid organizational skills.
Desirable Skills and Experience
* Ability to prepare case files supporting convictions.
* Previous crime and intelligence experience.
* Knowledge of court/legal processes.
* Degree or equivalent qualification.
* Open-source intelligence research skills.
* Familiarity with UK National Intelligence Model.
* Membership of a professional body.
* Security clearance or willingness to obtain.
* Ability to work remotely as required.
