Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Quality Engineer
to join a large-scale central government programme delivering modern, high-quality digital services. You will work as part of an agile scrum team (4-8 engineers) operating in two-week sprints, helping to ensure solutions meet the highest quality standards across a range of technologies.
Tech Stack
* Frontend: Remix, React, JavaScript
* Backend: Java, Spring, .NET
* Data: MongoDB, Oracle
* Tools: RabbitMQ, JSON
Key Responsibilities
* Design and implement test automation frameworks and solutions from the ground up
* Apply TDD/BDD methodologies and risk-based testing approaches
* Support CI/CD pipelines and promote shift-left quality practices
* Coach and mentor engineers on quality engineering best practices
* Conduct testing across all levels (Unit, Integration, System, Non-Functional)
* Analyse business requirements to define effective test strategies
* Manage test data and maintain testing collateral
* Collaborate in development activities through pair programming
Required Skills
* Strong background in software testing and quality engineering
* Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines
* Proficiency with Git/GitLab
* Excellent communication and coaching skills
* Strong stakeholder management abilities
* Quality-first mindset
Preferred Skills
* Experience with automation tools (JUnit, Playwright, Selenium, Cucumber)
* Familiarity with performance testing (Gatling) and security testing (OWASP Zap)
* Knowledge of containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud environments (AWS)
* Accessibility testing expertise (WCAG, Wave, Axe)
