About You We’re looking for someone with strong leadership credentials and broad-based operational experience. You may come from an engineering, civil, manufacturing, waste, or agri-tech background. More important than your current job title is your ability to: · Communicate effectively and lead people with confidence and clarity · Solve problems creatively and commercially · Operate across a flat management structure with self-motivation · See opportunities in complexity, spot risks and identify opportunities · Adapt to change, engage with regulators, partners and community stakeholders Why Join Us? We are a family-owned business with over 40 years of history and a bold future vision. We invest in people, technology and place. We are offering a rare opportunity to: · Lead from the ground up · Drive meaningful impact and long-term change · Influence the future of a pioneering business with real community roots · Be part of a wider movement towards a more sustainable, self-sufficient future A competitive salary is on offer, alongside the potential for progression. If you're ready to apply your operational expertise to something bigger, more meaningful and commercially rewarding, we’d love to hear from you. Please submit your CV and up to two page covering letter, on the same pdf, advising your suitability for the role by 9 September, we reserve the right to close applications early. All applications through Linked In please. About Us At Crapper & Sons and our wider group of companies, we’ve always believed waste should never be wasted. For over 40 years, we’ve been transforming the way communities manage resources, starting as a family-run landfill operation and evolving into a pioneering force in circular economy innovation. Today, we are more than a waste management business. Through our group including Sustain Wiltshire, Sustain Operations CIC and Sustain Britain - we are reshaping perceptions of sustainability. From the industry staples of aggregates and compost to ground-breaking projects. Our forming plans for our Super-Midden includes a world-first concept turning filled ‘capped cells’ into energy, heat and food production hubs with other areas storing material for future recycling. Jointly we are redefining what it means to restore and regenerate land. Our work is rooted in community and conservation. We’re passionate about giving back to the people and places we serve - whether through our Community Landfill Trust grants, creating jobs, promoting food security or powering local enterprise. We don’t just talk about change - we are passionate to build it. With a strong culture of action, collaboration and local empowerment, we challenge convention and invest in practical, scalable solutions to blend industrial innovation with ecological regeneration. Now, as we progress into a bold new phase, we are looking for a hands-on, commercially minded Operations Director to join our team. We present a rare opportunity to lead from the ground up - shaping future strategy, strengthening operational excellence and helping drive significant sustainable transformation from the inside, out.
