TPF Recruitment has partnered with a fantastic, fast-growing, and multi-sited firm of chartered accountants who are recruiting for an Assistant Accounts Manager to join their team in Horsham. You will work in a general practice position across accounts, tax, and audit, and have exposure to some excellent clients ranging from sole traders and small Ltd companies to some significantly large-sized groups.
The firm we are working with is open to receiving CV candidates who currently work as an Accounts Senior looking to progress into an Assistant Manager position or someone who is already working in an Assistant Manager capacity.
Accounts Assistant Manager Duties:
* Managing client expectations and updating clients with costs and time estimations.
* Assisting Managers and Partners in client meetings where required.
* First review small accounts jobs from trainee accountants before submission to the Client Manager/Partner.
* Produce work for Client Managers and Partners review which requires little further input, clearly highlighting issues and providing potential solutions to issued identified.
* Prepare medium-sized and group accounts.
* Prepare CT600 submissions for Client Managers.
* Preparing personal tax returns, partnership tax returns and companies’ tax returns, income and expenditure accounts, and rental accounts and providing general tax advice to clients.
* Keeping up to date with current legislation and complying with rules relating to post-qualification education to identify ways to enhance CPD.
Requirements
Our ideal candidate for this role will:
* Be ACA/ACCA newly qualified or part-qualified, or AAT qualified with a wish to qualify further
* Have strong knowledge of accounting for SMEs including corporate tax, VAT, and PAYE
* Have experience supervising trainees accountants
* Aptitude for delivering excellent customer service
* Approachable, with an ability to build strong working relationships
* Good verbal and written communication skills as they would be dealing directly with clients.
Benefits
* £42,000 - £50,000 dependent on experience and background, negotiable.
* Although this is advertised as a full-time vacancy, we are happy to be flexible and would consider anyone who needs to work around caring responsibilities, etc.
* The role can involve hybrid working. We’re very open to this, but the role will involve some office-based days. There is no set pattern for the office-based days as we’re open to discussing the needs of the individual on a case-by-case basis.
