Baker Hughes is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior System Services Engineer to join our global services team. In this senior position you will take ownership of critical site activities, lead multidisciplinary teams, and serve as the primary technical authority for advanced BH control systems and auxiliary subsea oil and gas control technologies. You will ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality service delivery worldwide.
Responsibilities
* Supporting direct installation, commissioning, and maintenance of BH control systems, providing expert guidance to engineering teams, contractors, and customers.
* Leading system startup, calibration, sequencing, and high‑level troubleshooting for BH control systems and auxiliary subsea oil and gas control technologies.
* Supervising and supporting complex diagnostics including tuning, inspections, component replacements, and system operation verification.
* Overseeing the execution of maintenance, modifications, upgrades, testing, and repairs on software‑based control systems, instrumentation, hydro‑mechanical, and auxiliary subsea oil and gas control subsystems.
* Creating, reviewing, and approving technical documentation, including engineering estimates, specifications, test procedures, service reports, method statements, and health assessments.
* Ensuring all work meets Baker Hughes’ technical and quality standards.
* Acting as the senior technical authority, providing guidance, addressing escalations, and ensuring timely resolution of customer concerns.
* Interface across operations, engineering, and customer leadership to ensure alignment with expectations and contractual requirements.
* Supporting technical reviews, site meetings, and reliability improvement initiatives.
* Coaching and guiding junior engineers and field service engineers, supporting technical competency growth and promoting best practices.
* Fostering strong team performance and ensuring efficient, safe execution of service activities.
* Leading engineering scopes with strict adherence to HSE standards, risk assessments, and safe‑system‑of‑work processes.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Hydraulics, Mechanical, or Control Systems.
* Extensive experience supporting industrial control systems and auxiliary subsea oil and gas control technologies.
* Strong experience in managing and leading multiple projects.
* Experience in electro‑hydraulic mechanical systems.
* Strong understanding of control systems and auxiliary subsea oil and gas control technologies.
* Willingness to travel, including international or offshore assignments.
* Permanent work permit in the UK.
* Background in oil and gas, subsea, or EPC industries.
