Portland is a vibrant Michelin-starred restaurant in Fitzrovia serving thoughtful, ingredient-led food in a relaxed and welcoming dining room. Our cooking is rooted in seasonality, simplicity and precision, with menus that evolve regularly to reflect the best produce available.
Our kitchens are built on teamwork, curiosity and continuous improvement, and we are proud to nurture talented chefs who want to develop their craft in a supportive and ambitious environment.
The Role
As a Chef de Partie at Portland, you will take ownership of a section within the kitchen and play an important role in delivering the consistent quality our guests expect. Working closely with the Head Chef and senior team, you will help ensure that every dish leaving the kitchen reflects the care, attention to detail and ingredient-led approach that defines Portland.
Our menus change frequently, meaning you will constantly be working with new seasonal produce and developing your understanding of ingredients, techniques and flavour. This role is ideal for chefs who are curious, motivated and eager to continue learning in a Michelin-starred kitchen.
About You
Our kitchens are made up of chefs from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences. While everyone brings something different, there are a few qualities we tend to look for:
* A genuine passion for cooking and a desire to improve every day
* Pride in working with exceptional seasonal ingredients
* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to consistency
* A calm and professional approach during busy services
* A collaborative mindset and enjoyment of working as part of a close-knit team
* Curiosity about ingredients, technique and the wider craft of hospitality
* Previous experience as a CDP in a high-quality kitchen is preferred, though we also welcome applications from strong Demi CDPs ready to take the next step.
Above all else, we value chefs who care deeply about what they do and take pride in their work.
Benefits & Development
In addition to a competitive salary, we offer:
* Bupa health insurance
* 50% staff discount across the group for up to 6 people
* Welcome lunch
* Enhanced maternity and paternity leave
* Access to individual mental health support
