Job Description

A well-established, multi-site chilled and frozen food manufacturer supplying the UK’s leading retailers is looking to appoint aTechnical Support Manager to join its growing technical team. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a key customer-facing technical role within a respected and forward-thinking food business that places real emphasis on food safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

The Role

Reporting into the Technical Director, you’ll act as the first point of contact for technical queries from customers and suppliers. You’ll play a central role in complaints management, non-conformance investigations, and technical compliance, working closely with internal teams to ensure products consistently meet legal, customer, and food safety requirements. This role suits someone who enjoys variety, ownership, and being the “go-to” technical contact across the business.

Key Responsibilities

* Act as the primary technical contact for customers and suppliers
* Manage and maintain the complaints system, ensuring timely investigation and resolution
* Investigate technical queries and non-conformances against agreed deadlines
* Ensure compliance with food safety, legal, and customer standards
* Monitor and report on key technical KPIs
* Collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners
* Support the wider technical function during peak workloads

About You

* Degree in Food Science (or related discipline) or equivalent experience within food manufacturing
* Strong understanding of food safety, due diligence, and regulatory compliance
* Confident communicator with a solutions-focused mindset
* Well organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
* Experience in complaint handling or technical customer support is highly desirable
