Position: UI / UX Lead
Job Type: Contract
Duration: 8 weeks + Possible extension
Location: Telford, United Kingdom (twice a week at client's office) - Mandatory
Start Date: ASAP
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the end-to-end design process for web and mobile applications.
* Define and maintain design standards, guidelines, and best practices.
* Mentor and guide UI / UX designers within the team.
* Conduct user research, usability testing, and analyze feedback to inform design decisions.
* Develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups.
* Ensure designs align with business goals and user needs.
* Work closely with product managers and engineering teams to translate requirements into design solutions.
* Advocate for user-centered design principles across the organization.
* Stay updated on emerging design trends, tools, and technologies.
* Introduce innovative approaches to enhance user engagement and satisfaction.
Required Skills & Qualifications
* 7+ years in UI / UX design, with at least 2 years in lead designer role.
* Proven portfolio showcasing design projects for web and mobile platforms.
* Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and frameworks like React or Angular.
* Experience with RESTful APIs and MuleSoft integration.
* Knowledge of UX principles, accessibility standards, and responsive design.
* Familiarity with Git, CI / CD pipelines, and agile methodologies.
* Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Education
Bachelors or masters degree in design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field.
Additional Experience and Technical Skills
* Experience in government or citizen-facing projects.
* Understanding of API-led connectivity and MuleSoft architecture.
* Expertise in design tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, etc.).
* Added advantage knowing AI-Powered & Emerging Tools.
* Strong understanding of HTML / CSS and responsive design principles.
Preferred Qualifications & Soft Skills
* Excellent communication and presentation skills.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
* Experience with design systems and component libraries.
* Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG).
* Knowledge of front-end frameworks (React, Angular) is a plus.
