Job Ad: Full-Time SEND Teaching Assistant - Foundation Special SchoolPosition: Full-Time SEND Teaching Assistant Location: Sutton Hours: 9am-3:45pm Monday to Friday About the Role: We are looking for a full-time SEND Teaching Assistant to join our all-age foundation special school. You will work with students with autism, severe learning disabilities, and social-emotional difficulties that impact their ability to manage daily activities. This role requires someone with compassion, patience, and a passion for helping students overcome challenges and reach their full potential. Key Responsibilities: •Provide 1:1 and group support to students with autism and severe learning disabilities. •Assist in managing challenging behaviour using positive behaviour support strategies. •Collaborate with teachers to implement individualised education plans (IEPs). •Help students develop social, emotional, and practical life skills. •Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment. Requirements: •Experience working with children or young people with SEND, particularly autism and emotional/learning difficulties. •Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team. •Patience, resilience, and the ability to handle challenging behaviour. •Relevant qualifications or experience in SEND education is desirable.
