The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as part of a dynamic and fast-paced multi-disciplinary Occupational Health team. Salus Occupational Health deliver the full range of OH services to a range of customers across Scotland and looking for a senior OH technician to join their delivery team. To work under the supervision of registered therapy staff to assist patients to achieve their rehabilitation goals.
Undertake baseline assessments within clearly defined parameters for the identified service.
Implement, adapt and progress treatment programmes within agreed protocols and defined parameters.
Use specialist technical and practical skills to deliver flexible, patient centred programmes across a variety of clinical settings.
Discharge or transition care within agreed protocols and defined parameters.
Duties may vary depending on the care group / department or assigned area of work.

What we'll need you to bring
Qualifications and Experience
1. HNC in healthcare, education or social cares or SVQ III in healthcare, education or social care or equivalent experience in a health, education or social care environment.
2. Short specialist courses relevant to specific clinical area.
Knowledge and Skills
3. Awareness of health legislation relevant to the clinical area.
4. Knowledge of the therapeutic process, techniques and / or activities relevant to client group.
5. Basic assessment skills.
6. Ability to apply a range of technical and practical rehabilitation skills.
7. Effective listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Time management, planning and organisational skills.
9. Working knowledge of basic information technology.
10. Ability to work individually, or as part of a team
11. Ability to learn and develop new skills and maintain a record of learning.
A driving licence is required, this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
It would be great if you also have
12. Breadth of experience of therapy or rehabilitation /
13. re-ablement in a health, education or social care environment
14. Holds or working towards formal Health & Safety Qualification such as NEBOSH certificate
15. Short specialist courses – Audiometry / spirometry
16. Significant experience working within an occupational health setting
17. Experience as a Clinical Support Worker/Occupational health
18. Experience working within a commercial occupational health environment
19. Experience of organising and carrying out clinic based work
20. Experience of providing guidance or supervision to junior staff members
21. Experience working with off site customers
22. Awareness of health legislation relevant to the clinical area
23. Knowledge of surveillance and screening programmes
24. Competent in venepuncture
25. Ability to work with people and as part of a team
26. Ability to work without direct supervision
27. Organisational skills and ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively in a busy environment
28. Flexibility and ability to use initiative within role

This role will be based in Occupational Health - Salus within Beckford St.
The working pattern for this role is Monday to Friday 08:30am to 04:30pm
