We are currently looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our I.T. team in the position of Information / Cyber Security Analyst based at our Northampton Head Office.
This role is well suited to a junior Cyber Security Analyst or a recent graduate looking to start a career in cyber security.
The role holder will play an active part in monitoring, detecting, analysing, and responding to security incidents, as well as proactively improving Forterra's security posture.
Responsibilities
* Supporting incident response activities by reviewing escalations from an externally managed SOC, assessing severity, and coordinating containment and remediation actions with IT operations teams and third‑party vendors.
* Assisting with the prioritisation of patch management activities, with a focus on remediating high‑risk and critical vulnerabilities.
* Enhancing and continuously monitoring identity and access management (IAM) security controls.
* Configuring, maintaining, and optimising the organisation's security tooling.
* Upholding information security policies and standards, and maintaining documentation to support audit and assurance requirements.
* Supporting data protection and compliance through the implementation and ongoing management of Data Loss Prevention (DLP) controls.
* Monitoring emerging threat trends and developments in security tooling to support continuous security improvement.
* Assisting with the development and maintenance of Incident Response playbooks, and supporting Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity (BC) planning.
* Supporting compliance with recognised security and regulatory frameworks, including ISO/IEC 27001, NIST CSF, GDPR, and Cyber Essentials.

* To have a good understanding of security solutions, such as but not limited to:
o Endpoint Detections and Response
o Email Filtering
o Zero Trust Network Access
o Secure Service Edge
o Data Loss Protection
* Basic scripting skills (PowerShell, KQL) for automation and analysis.
* Knowledge of firewalls, IDS/IPS and encryption technologies.
* 2+ years of experience in a cybersecurity, information security or IT technical role.
* A Bachelor's degree, or working towards a Bachelor's degree, in Cybersecurity, Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
* Industry certifications (CompTIA, SC-200, ITIL 4, etc).
* Framework knowledge (ISO27001, NIST CSF, GDPR, Cyber Essentials).
