The Priory Hospital Nottingham is looking to recruit a Healthcare Assistant to join their team. This is a full-time role.
Pay rate: £12.90 per hour
Shifts: Day/Night shifts on a rota basis with times 07:30 – 20:00 and 19:30 – 08:00, including weekends.
Location and service
The Priory Hospital Nottingham is conveniently located near the centre of Nottingham, with easy access by train, bus or car. The hospital is an acute service providing support for 14 adults who require acute mental health emergency care. Our acute services offer round-the-clock assistance in emergencies. Our specialist inpatient teams are committed to providing high-quality care, supporting patients with a wide range of mental health conditions in a safe and therapeutic environment.
What you’ll be doing
You will be part of a compassionate team committed to our patients’ wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. As a Healthcare Assistant, you will play a key part in patients’ recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment.
* Support residents with in-house activities and hobbies
* Provide support to achieve everyday goals including personal care tasks (washing, dressing, eating, toileting)
* Assist with mealtimes
* Help manage behaviours that challenge
* Assist and support to attend medical appointments
* Observe, monitor and record physical and emotional well-being, and promptly report changes to senior staff
* Provide emotional support to individuals and their families
* Light housekeeping duties including vacuuming, sweeping and changing bed clothes when required
* Understand communication needs and adapt communication to each individual
* Work with other professionals, such as nurses and therapists, to ensure consistency of support
* Analyse an individual’s needs and contribute to a focused support plan
What you’ll bring to the role
