P+S Personnel are pleased to be working on behalf of our clients, who are currently recruiting a Senior Test and Diagnostic Engineer to join their busy team in Great Yarmouth on a full time, permanent basis.
Role Summary:
As a Senior Test & Diagnostics Engineer, you will support the testing, verification, and continuous improvement of electronic products in a manufacturing environment. The role includes developing and maintaining test setups and procedures, providing hands-on production support, performing diagnostics and fault finding, and driving process improvements to ensure performance, quality, and safety standards are met.
Main Responsibilities:
Design test systems & aid diagnostics.
Convert customer & internal test specifications into designs for test systems
Program test systems
Diagnose faults on test systems & product down to component level
Mentor staff in the use of hardware
Liaise with both engineering and production on complex product issues or test equipment repairs, escalating when necessary.
Communicate status of ongoing tasks and issues with Engineering and Production management.
Produce and/or maintain technical documentation controlling test, diagnostic and repair processes.
Suggest improvements to increase efficiency of processes.
Comply with EHS policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
Always ensure good housekeeping to maintain a safe working environment
To ensure test work is carried out in a timely manner to meet deadlines.
To undertake any other duties and responsibilities, as required to maintain and/or improve the efficiency, quality and service of the Engineering team.
Engagement with all departments within Spectrum Control as necessary to carry out the duties outlined above.
Experience & Qualifications:
HND or Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering (Essential)
Degree with focus on test or manufacturing engineering (Desirable)
Hands-on experience in electronic test or production engineering (Essential)
Experience with test and measurement equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc.) (Essential)
Understanding of electronic circuits and component-level testing (Essential)
Working within a manufacturing or production environment (Essential)
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills (Essential)
Familiar with calibration and quality control processes (Essential)
Experience in automated test systems (ATE) (Desirable)
Programming experience in Python or C# (Desirable)
Experience in PCB layout or design tools such as Altium (Desirable)
SC cleared or ability to obtain
Occasional travel to other Spectrum Control sites and customers as required
