The Insight Analyst is part of the Data & Insight team, supporting business decisions and strategy through advanced analytics, external and internal data sources, and sector insights. This role assists senior leadership in assessing the external business environment and identifying opportunities and threats.
You will collaborate with operational, development, and commercial teams to understand their objectives and the market intelligence or internal insights needed to inform their decisions. Your responsibilities include managing data sources, conducting analysis, identifying key themes and trends, and presenting insights in a clear, actionable manner.
Key Responsibilities
* Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data and insight needs, and drive data-driven decision making.
* Work with the Analytics team to scope and deliver analytical projects.
* Analyze multiple data sources to identify trends and insights.
* Create visualizations and tell compelling stories with data.
* Relate data findings to business objectives and identify the big picture.
* Manage relationships with data suppliers and source new data.
* Promote the use of insight across the business, supporting teams with analysis and interpretation.
* Ensure data quality through regular checks.
* Develop expertise in the HE and PBSA sectors via desk research, news, and policy updates.
* Manage customer experience measurement programs to understand the student experience.
* Perform advanced analytics to understand the purpose-built student accommodation market.
* Contribute to the development of analytical models to support decision-making.
* Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
* Participate in multi-disciplinary teams to deliver projects.
* Share insights and knowledge proactively across the organization.
Candidate Profile
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to tell stories through data.
* Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or similar visualization tools.
* Proficiency in querying data using SQL, Python, Pyspark, R, or similar languages.
* Self-motivated, proactive, and curious.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Experience gathering stakeholder requirements and presenting technical findings to non-technical audiences.
* Proven ability to add business value through data analysis.
* Ability to visualize data effectively and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
* Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
* Passionate about the education sector and keeping up with sector news and policies.
* Beneficial: experience with data science techniques and working with structured/unstructured data.
