Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to help deliver our regulatory responsibilities, placed on us as the Enforcement Authority for the Reservoirs Act 1975 in England. The Reservoirs Act helps to ensure the safe operation and management of dams. This role is part-time (22.2 hours per week) and is a job share opportunity within the Environmental Assessment and Reservoir Regulation department of the Flood & Coastal Risk Management Directorate.
Responsibilities
* Monitor day-to-day correspondence for the Compliance and Monitoring team in the Reservoir Regulation role.
* Record incoming documentation on our database to ensure that our records are accurate and up to date.
* Encourage compliance when reports or certificates are not received as expected.
* Be the first point of contact for reservoir owners and panel engineers.
* Provide information and advice on the requirements of the Reservoirs Act.
* Support the regulation of reservoirs across England, acknowledging that some travel and overnight stays may be required.
Experience and Qualifications
* Good verbal and written communications skills.
* Attention to detail.
* Ability to prioritise a varied workload.
Working arrangements and location
This is a national role and you can be based at any Environment Agency office. The team is nationally dispersed; some travel is expected.
