As a Management Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing and producing the accounts for Commercial and our subsidiary Companies. Your responsibilities will include analysing financial data, preparing financial reports, and supporting decision-making processes.
You will work closely with the finance team to ensure that accounting standards are followed and to identify areas of potential current or future risk in relation to accounting standards, tax and VAT.
Your responsibilities as a Management Accountant will be…
* Production of Management Accounts including P+L, balance sheet and cash flow statements.
* Support external audits, liaising with auditors and providing all necessary documentation
* Liaise with business managers providing accurate and informative financial information
* Interpret and present financial data and analysis to senior stakeholders in an understandable and actionable manner
* Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end processes including accruals, prepayments and reconciliations
* Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements
* Maintain and reconcile key balance sheet accounts
* Assist with annual budget preparation and periodic re-forecasting
* Ensure stock is managed in line with statutory requirements and stocktakes are completed
* Ensure that finance processes are robust, fit for purpose and meet statutory requirements
* Liaise with other Departments to ensure that they all have 'finance friendly' procedures which contribute to the integrity of all Company information
* Assist with the introduction of new ERP systems for the business and offer support for these systems
* Support process automation and efficiency improvements within the Finance Department
* Complete calculations and submissions for statutory requirements when required. Eg CIS, VAT
About you
* You will be full/part qualified, minimum requirement AAT level 4, CIMA Certificate level or ACCA Applied Knowledge level and looking to progress to achieve the full qualification
* You will have a good understanding of the accounts function
* Experience in management accounting either through previous roles or as part of training
* Advanced computer literacy skills, particularly within Microsoft Excel
* Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills
* The ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships with colleagues
* Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
* A proactive and inquisitive mindset, eager to improve processes and add value
