Overview

This post is fixed term/secondment for 6 months to meet the needs of the service. If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.


Role

A Senior DevOps Engineer supports the development, integration, and operation of software, delivering and maintaining a complete DevOps toolchain to enable effective product delivery. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will:


Responsibilities

* Take ownership of complex DevOps initiatives, making independent decisions to deliver effective solutions.
* Plan and design groups of user stories, translating technical requirements into an effective DevOps toolchain to enable product delivery.
* Promote best practices, standards, and innovation across DevOps delivery to ensure high-quality, secure, and efficient services.
* Design and implement infrastructure solutions, ensuring deployment strategies are repeatable, scalable, and highly available.
* Provide coaching and mentoring to colleagues, sharing technical expertise and supporting delivery teams in solving complex problems.
* Apply a logical, analytical approach to problem solving, maintaining close attention to detail.
* Use agreed specifications to design, code, test and document programs or scripts of medium-to-high complexity, using the right standards and tools.
* Identify, locate and fix complex service faults, escalating issues when necessary to maintain reliable operations.
