Job Title: NDT Inspector (MPI)Location: Burton-on-Trent area, Staffordshire (Barton Under Needwood)Duration: Minimum 6-month contract (potential for extension)Hours: Monday to Thursday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PMFriday, 7:00 AM - 1:00 PMRate: Competitive - to be discussedTransport: Own vehicle recommended due to site locationJob OverviewOur engineering client, based in Barton Under Needwood, is seeking an experienced NDT Inspector (MPI Level II) for a minimum 3-month contract. This role is ideal for a skilled inspector who can independently set up and operate equipment, interpret results to relevant standards, and support production quality through effective non-destructive testing processes.Key ResponsibilitiesSet up and calibrate NDT equipment for Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI).Conduct inspections to identify quality issues or defects in accordance with required specifications and standards.Evaluate and interpret results with reference to applicable codes.Organise and document inspection findings clearly and accurately.Establish appropriate examination techniques for each component under review.Support and guide Level I inspectors and trainees where applicable.Communicate effectively with internal teams and client contacts regarding priorities and project updates.Participate in safety initiatives, planning sessions, and incident investigations.Promote a clean, safe working environment and adhere to site safety regulations at all times.Report any near misses, issues, or concerns to management.Follow relevant work instructions, drawings, and process plans.Ensure correct disposal of waste materials in line with site procedures.Carry out other reasonable tasks aligned with your skill level when required.Qualifications and ExperienceEssential:Proven experience in Non-Destructive Testing, specifically Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI)Sound understanding of NDT principles and techniquesComfortable working in a fast-paced engineering environmentDesirable:NDT Level II certification (MPI)GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and EnglishWillingness to undertake further training and upskilling in NDTIdeal Candidate AttributesSelf-motivated and detail-focusedGood communicator with strong reporting skillsSafety-conscious and quality-drivenWilling to support team development through mentoring where neededAble to adapt to changing workloads and prioritiesApply NowIf you're an experienced NDT Inspector looking for a hands-on role in a dynamic engineering environment, we want to hear from you.
