Position: Contract Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Castle Donington – Hybrid/Flexible
Contract: Outside IR35
Type: Full-Time
The Role
This is an outside IR35 contract assignment working on a project involving designing a range of turbomachinery related components.
Key Responsibilities:
* Create detailed 3D models and assemblies using Siemens NX.
* Generate engineering drawings.
* Perform engineering design calculations eg Perform tolerance stack-up analysis.
* Preparation of engineering design reports.
* Engage with suppliers and lead design for manufacturing activities.
* Ensure designs meet industry standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
Required qualifications and experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
* Experience designing turbomachinery or related equipment, particularly blades/vanes/turbines is essential.
* Experience using BS8888 and/or ASME Y14.5
* Proficiency in NX software is essential.
* Strong skills in mechanical calculations and GD&T are essential.
* Experience using Teamcenter, or similar PLM systems.
* Good communication skills with the ability to work in a small team as a self-starter.
