The Custom Programmes and Housing Manager oversees delivery of IFSA’s customized programmes throughout England and Wales, taking responsibility for preparing programme proposals, securing bookings for cultural activities and housing, providing high quality academic and cultural support for faculty and participants on custom programmes in England and Wales. The postholder will also oversee IFSA-provided housing in London, managing relationships with housing providers for both semester students and short-term programme students. The Custom Programmes and Housing Manager acts as the line manager for the Custom Programmes Coordinators in England and Wales and short-term Custom Programme Assistants, working closely with the Director for England and Wales Programmes. In addition to working with colleagues in England and Wales and the wider Custom Team, the postholder liaises closely with global colleagues from Health, Safety & Wellbeing, Academic Programmes, HR, and Student Engagement. Learn more about IFSA at https://www.ifsa-butler.org/ In this position, your responsibilities would include: Oversee the planning and delivery of customprogrammesin England and Wales, ensuring deadlines and key performance indicators are met and delivery aligns with IFSA’s mission, vision, and commitments Contribute to emergency response and student incident management based on established protocol Duties assigned by Director,Englandand WalesProgrammestoassistwith student services and England/Wales operations Line management of CustomProgrammeCoordinator and CustomProgrammeAssistants in England and Wales, ensuring the team meets deadlines and operationalobjectivesand supporting their professional development Work with the Director, England and WalesProgrammesand HR to recruit and train CustomProgrammeCoordinators and CustomProgrammeAssistants In collaboration with the Director, England and WalesProgrammes, oversee IFSA’s housing strategy in London Manage relationships with housing providers and customprogrammepartners/faculty Work closely with the Student Engagement Team to ensure housing needs are met for students in IFSA-provided housing Develop systems to ensure housing allocations maximize occupancy and best meet student requirements Ensure housing providers meet IFSA’s standards for health, safety and wellbeing through evaluations, inspections, and regular check-ins with providers and students Support onsite team as they handle housing queries and liaise with providers to ensuretimelyissue resolution Requirements At least 4 years of work experience in sectors such as higher education, tourism, event planning, or hospitality At least 1 year of experience in line management/with direct reports Strong time management and planning skills, with the ability to work independently to execute time-sensitive tasks and duties successfully Strong attention to detail in creating internal and external documents and in managingprogrammeand administrative data Strong digital competencies, including the ability to engage with multiple systems and our database platform, Salesforce Contagious enthusiasm for IFSA’s mission,visionand commitments Proven ability to work well in a team and to engage effectively with colleagues across an organization Ability to engage with and support students with diverse lived experiences including students of colour, students with mental and physical disabilities, first-generation college students, and LGBTQIA students Flexibility and ability to adapt and thrive in ambiguous and changing situations and to shift focus and reprioritize work as needed An ability to respond calmly and professionally to emergency situations Familiarity with the London student housing market is strongly desirable Undergraduate degree is preferred The legal right to work in the UK isrequired We know there are great candidates who won’t check all of these boxes, and we also know you might bring important perspectives, experiences and skills that we haven’t considered. Required to navigate and travel around the city and for excursions, potentially outdoors in the heat or cold Occasional travel around the city of London and to other programme locations isrequired Occasional physical activities such as arranging chairs/tables in conference room settings.
