The role
Join our infrastructure team to keep enterprise systems healthy, secure and highly available. You'll deliver 2nd/3rd line support, own complex incident resolution, and drive proactive maintenance and project delivery across on-prem, hosted and cloud environments.
Location & travel
* Primary hub:
Nottingham, UK
* You'll
visit the Nottingham site regularly
(e.g., planned maintenance, project work, escalations).

What you'll do
* Provide
2nd/3rd line support
using ITIL practices; restore services quickly and escalate appropriately.
* Monitor & maintain servers, networks and core services; handle backups, patching, capacity and performance.
* Administer
Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory
, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP; run domain health/security diagnostics.
* Operate and improve our
Azure
footprint (IaaS, backup, administration, migrations).
* Manage
VMware vSphere/vCenter
and storage; contribute to change, problem and configuration management.
* Use enterprise tooling for monitoring, endpoint protection, remote support and backup (e.g., SolarWinds, Endpoint/Intune, Commvault, or equivalents).
* Act as an escalation point for desktop/site support; collaborate with third-party vendors.
* Participate in an
on-call rota
and occasional out-of-hours work for maintenance/priority incidents.
What you'll bring
Essential
* Strong administration of
Windows Server & Linux
; solid
PowerShell
/scripting fundamentals.
* Hands-on
Active Directory
(OUs, users, groups, GPO),
DNS/DHCP
, NPS; troubleshooting at scale.
* Practical
Azure
(admin, backup, management) and
VMware vSphere/vCenter
experience.
* Patch management (WSUS or third-party tools); software packaging & deployment.
* Good grasp of the
OSI model
, IPv4, routing, and network/security best practices.
* Clear documentation, time management and troubleshooting skills; ability to work under pressure.
Nice to have
* MPLS/SD-WAN, Palo Alto/Meraki, NetApp ONTAP, Microsoft 365 SSO, SQL Server.
* Certifications such as
AZ-104/AZ-700/AZ-800/AZ-801
,
CCNA/CCNP
, and VMware vSphere.
