About the Role
As a Tutor, you will play a vital role in enhancing the well-being and academic readiness of our students. Your responsibilities will include:
* Supporting the improvement of well-being, resilience, and behaviour management.
* Collaborating with the education team to remove barriers to learning.
* Promoting positive learning behaviours among students.
* Leading classes during PPA and absence cover, with planning support from teaching staff.
* Delivering engaging enrichment activities during golden time.
* Assisting in lessons to support academic understanding and emotional needs.
* Responding to immediate concerns and clarifying situations.
* Creating and collating information related to lessons and interventions.
* Preparing relevant information for pupil meetings.
* Advocating for the ethos of the school.
* Leading on reading and phonics, reviewing student progress.
* Developing the role of Pupil Voice and liaising with SLT about the Pupil Council.
* Building relationships with parents/carers and participating in transitions and consultations.
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should have:
* A strong educational background, with at least GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics.
* Previous experience in a similar role, such as HLTA.
* Experience working with pupils with SEMH in an educational setting.
* Confidence to take on additional responsibilities in areas like Food Hygiene, Forest School, or School Yoga.
* Experience in behaviour management techniques.
* A commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn.
Working Conditions
This is a Full-Time, Term Time Only position with a basic salary of £24,000 FTE. You will be part of a friendly and inclusive team that values emotional health and well-being.
