Role: Technical Administrator (6–9 Month Contract)
Location: Wyndham Way, Kettering, NN16 8SD
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: Up to £27,000 per annum
Interaction Recruitment is working on behalf of our client to recruit a Technical Administrator for a 6 to 9 month fixed-term contract. This role sits within the Fall Arrest Team as part of the Safety Products Testing department.
About the Department
The Safety Product Testing team carries out testing on a wide range of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for a global customer base, ensuring products meet required safety and performance standards.
Products tested include gloves, fall protection equipment, motorcycle garments, high visibility clothing, eyewear, helmets, hearing protection, chainsaw garments, kneepads, sports protection, and more.
The department operates multiple accredited laboratories equipped with specialist machinery used to test PPE against International and European standards. Test results are reported to customers and support product development as well as CE and UKCA certification processes.
The team consists of approximately 25 multi-skilled technicians, technologists, and support staff.
Key Responsibilities
1. Respond to customer enquiries accurately and professionally within agreed timeframes
2. Carry out administrative duties related to creating and booking in customer projects and product samples
3. Support purchasing processes for equipment and consumables
4. Accurately maintain data within the company CRM system
5. Liaise with testing teams and customers to prepare quotations for testing and audits
6. Coordinate customer visits with internal teams and clients
7. Work with other departments and subcontractors to arrange calibrations and testing
8. Assist with equipment calibration activities and maintain records
9. Develop a technical understanding of customer products and available PPE services
10. Build strong working relationships with colleagues and customers
About You
Essential:
11. GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths, English, and a Science (Grades A–C or equivalent experience)
12. Highly organised with strong self-motivation
13. Naturally inquisitive with problem-solving abilities
14. Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
15. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships at all levels
16. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
17. Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
Desirable:
18. Experience in auditing or compliance-related roles
19. Knowledge or experience of PPE products
20. Familiarity with testing standards (EN, ISO, BS)
21. Experience using database systems (Dynamics preferred)
22. Understanding of a quality management system (QMS)
