Overview
Green Gates Care Home, 2 Hernes Road, Summertown, Oxford, OX2 7PT. Salary: £12.60 - £13.60 per hour (depending on experience). Permanent contract. State shifts - 40 hours / days.
Green Gates offers residential, nursing, palliative, post-operative and respite care, with spaces for short stays. Located in Summertown with a homely atmosphere, gardens, and multiple communal areas. All rooms are en-suite with bathroom facilities, Wi-Fi, and Smart TV included. The home is close to Oxford city centre and local amenities, with frequent transport links nearby.
We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join the team and help deliver an excellent dining experience for our residents.
Responsibilities
* Acting as the link between the main kitchen and residents
* Assisting the chefs to plate meals, prepare food trolleys and ensure all preparation areas are kept clean and tidy
* Monitoring stock rotation, complying with company policies and procedures following all mandatory COSHH and HACPP guidelines
* Assisting with catering for special events such as summer BBQs and Christmas parties
Qualifications
A passion for food with previous experience working in a kitchen and a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate. You should aim to deliver an excellent service at each meal and help residents feel at home. You will understand the importance of maintaining high standards in and around the home, ensuring residents enjoy a pleasant dining experience. You should be comfortable communicating with others and cherishing the little moments with residents while working with the wider kitchen and care home teams.
