Exposure to a wide range of financial tasks and responsibilities, providing a solid foundation for a finance career Position Finance Apprentice Location Darwen, India Mills Business Centre, BB3 1AE Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Apprentice to join our finance team. This apprenticeship is designed for individuals passionate about building a career in finance. The successful candidate will support the finance team in various accounting tasks, gaining practical experience while studying towards their AAT qualifications from Level 2 through to Level 4. Key Responsibilities Assist with the preparation and processing of invoices, payments, and receipts. Support the reconciliation of bank statements and financial records. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation. Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements. Support month-end and year-end closing processes. Assist with data entry and management of accounting software. Provide general administrative support to the finance team. Respond to internal and external financial inquiries promptly and professionally. Ongoing job shadowing, to enhance accounting knowledge and skills. Adhere to company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with financial regulations. Contribute to financial audits and the development of internal controls. Support the implementation of new financial systems and processes. As you progress through the AAT levels, you will take on more complex tasks such as budget preparation, financial forecasting, and variance analysis. Qualifications and Skills A genuine interest in pursuing a career in finance. Commitment to completing AAT qualifications from Level 2 through to Level 4. Strong numerical and analytical skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Willingness to learn and develop new skills. High level of integrity and professionalism. Prior experience in a finance-related role (desirable but not essential).
