As a Senior Care Assistant at a Barchester care home, you'll look after the different needs of our residents to enable us to deliver quality, person-centred care and support. Your role will involve supervising and inspiring a team of dedicated Care Assistants alongside the Deputy General Manager. You can also expect to support the clinical team in areas such as medication, assessments, care plans, or care reviews.


Main duties of the job

You should have an NVQ Level 3 or Advanced Diploma in Health & Social Care to join us as a Senior Care Assistant. We also need to see that you have specific knowledge of clinical care for the elderly. We're looking for warm-hearted, compassionate individuals who are committed to providing personalised care and support. You'll have opportunities for ongoing training to develop your career; many of our Senior Care Assistants progress into Care Practitioner, Regional Carer, or nursing roles.

Job responsibilities

About the role: As a Senior Care Assistant, you'll cater to our residents' diverse needs, supervising and motivating a team of Care Assistants alongside the Deputy General Manager. You will support the clinical team in areas such as medication management, assessments, care planning, and reviews. Always respecting the dignity and preferences of our residents, you'll contribute to creating a warm, welcoming, and vibrant environment.

About you: You should possess an NVQ Level 3 or Advanced Diploma in Health & Social Care, with specific knowledge of elderly clinical care. We seek warm-hearted, compassionate individuals dedicated to delivering personalised care. There are ample opportunities for career progression, including roles as a Care Practitioner, Regional Carer, or nurse.
