Vickerstock are working in partnership with a leading facilities and support services provider on the appointment of an Environmental Advisor. As an Environmental Advisor, you will play a key role in ensuring compliance with environmental legislation, maintaining ISO14001 standards, and driving sustainability initiatives across a large and complex site. In your new role: Maintain and continually develop the organisation's Environmental Management System (ISO14001) and provide support to environmental working groups Ensure compliance with all PPC permits, discharge consents and environmental obligations Coordinate waste management activities across site, ensuring legal and company requirements are fully met Assess environmental impacts of site and contractor activities, identifying risks and implementing improvement measures Develop and maintain systems to track environmental performance metrics (waste, water, emissions, energy), analysing trends and driving improvements Prepare and deliver environmental reports to stakeholders and regulatory authorities Investigate and report on environmental incidents, implementing corrective and preventive actions Lead internal audits, facilitate external inspections, and support continuous improvement in compliance processes Deliver environmental awareness training, toolbox talks and communication programmes across the site Support and progress ESG and sustainability initiatives in line with company and client objectives Participate in the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and provide support during environmental emergencies or incidents What you will need to succeed: A primary degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related discipline Minimum 3 years' experience in an Environmental advisory or compliance role Strong knowledge of ISO14001 Environmental Management Systems and practical experience of environmental audits Understanding of environmental permitting and consent requirements Excellent organisational, problem-solving and communication skills IT proficiency (MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) A full, clean driving licence Desirable (it would be great if you have this, but don't worry if you don't): Registered Environmental and EMS Auditor NEBOSH Certificate or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment Knowledge of waste management, environmental legislation and application of the waste hierarchy Previous involvement in ESG and sustainability programmes Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence at all levels For a more detailed brief and a confidential conversation on how Vickerstock can help support you with your next move, get in touch with Sam Geddis, our Health and Safety Specialist today.
