Experienced MSK Physiotherapist – Band 6, Fixed Term Contract (12 months), Part‑time (18.75 hrs), Newton Abbot Community Hospital, Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust.
Job Overview
An exciting opportunity to advance your MSK career in the heart of South Devon! You will work in a supportive, progressive and innovative physiotherapy team, providing high‑quality care to patients presenting at musculoskeletal outpatient clinics. Your role will involve complex clinical caseloads, diagnostics, clinical reasoning and rehabilitation within MSK further.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide a high standard of physiotherapy service to people presenting at musculoskeletal outpatient clinics across South Devon.
* Assess and manage general MSK patients, offering education and training to physiotherapists, students and other healthcare professionals.
* Offer a range of rehabilitation classes, acupuncture, steroid injections and 1:1 treatment within the MSK service.
* Maintain accurate and timely data input into the IHCS system for patient registration, contact information and discharge.
* Communicate assessment and treatment results to appropriate disciplines via reports, letters or verbal reports.
* Participate in CPD activities, including external courses and local training events, to support continuous professional development.
* Support and promote the digital first, rapid access, self‑referral service, including the Single Point of Access (SPoA) pathways to orthopaedics.
* Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams and maintain strong links with GP, consultant and other professional pathways.
Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for this position you should have experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, preferably within an NHS setting, and possess the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. The role requires CPD engagement and a commitment to delivering high‑quality patient care within a forward‑looking, innovation‑integrated environment.
