We are looking for a passionate and motivated Scrub Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner to join our General & Gynaecology Theatres at North Bristol NHS Trust.

Responsibilities
* Participate in all aspects of clinical operating department work and provide a high standard of patient care and safety in line with the Trust's philosophy, policies and legal requirements.
* Deputise for the Team Leader when required/experience allows.
* Assess, develop, implement and evaluate care programmes within a flexible multidisciplinary team.
* Run theatre lists efficiently and competently following policies and procedures.
* Ensure safe, effective and efficient management of allocated resources within scrub/circulating areas; assist with daily allocation planning.
* Maintain care and maintenance of all instrumentation, equipment and consumables; inform colleagues of stock/equipment needs.
* Take action on faulty equipment per Trust policy and participate in ordering and training of new equipment.
* Keep the department clean, organized and stocked with correctly cleaned and stored equipment.
* Supervise junior and unqualified colleagues, providing specialist knowledge in assessing and interpreting patient conditions.
* Support Theatre Managers in developing and reviewing policies for safe equipment use and hazardous substances management.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Essential: Registered Nurse with current live NMC registration or Registered ODP with current HCPC registration.
* Essential: Evidence of ongoing professional development.
* Desirable: Teaching and assessing qualification (e.g., 998 or equivalent) or willingness to undertake after 2 years post-registration; post-basic perioperative qualifications (e.g., Surgical First Assistant).
* Recent experience as a Registered Nurse/ODP in an acute setting with experience across a range of surgical specialties.
* Knowledge/Skills: Effective communication (verbal and written), teamwork, knowledge of NMC/HCPC codes and perioperative guidelines, strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, ability to work under pressure.
