SF Recruitment is exclusively partnering with a well-established and rapidly growing service business based in Aldridge to recruit a Senior Management Accountant.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a expanding business that is continuing to grow through acquisitions and organic growth. The successful candidate will have experience in a similar role, producing accurate and timely monthly management accounts, with strong financial controls experience, and will be enthusiastic about working for a constantly evolving business.
This role will develop alongside the business, allowing you to help shape the direction of the finance function. Opportunities for advancement into management positions are available quickly.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the finance team with month-end and year-end tasks such as accruals, prepayments, ledger maintenance, and balance sheet reconciliations.
2. Analyze P&L movements against budgets and previous months, providing commentary on variances.
3. Manage the Fixed Asset register, transitioning from manual entries to a system-generated register.
4. Oversee weekly payment runs, including reporting, verification, and payment journal entries.
5. Create ad hoc payment journals and remittances.
6. Perform bank reconciliations.
7. Assist with cash flow forecasting.
8. Support the team with the annual budget and audit processes.
9. Play a key role in integrating acquisitions into company systems.
Requirements:
* Qualified ACCA, CIMA, or ACA.
* Strong background in finance, with experience in a busy finance department.
* Proactive, self-motivated, with the ability to use initiative.
* Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
