SEN Teaching Assistant – September Start
Location: Bradford
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time, Long-Term (Potential Permanent Opportunity)
Milk Education are recruiting a caring, resilient, and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Bradford. The school provides a nurturing and structured environment for children with a range of additional needs and is looking for committed support staff to join their team from September.
We currently have several SEN support opportunities available within the school, including:
1. 1:1 support for a high-needs pupil
2. 1:1 support for a very high-needs young child with SEMH needs
3. Delivering adapted learning content to a small group of 3 pupils before supporting 1:1 within a Year 2 classroom for pupils with Autism and SEMH
4. Delivering adapted learning content to a small group of 3 pupils before supporting 1:1 within a Year 3 classroom for a pupil with Autism and selective mutism
These roles are ideal for individuals passionate about supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), SEMH, communication needs, and complex learning difficulties. Graduates and experienced support staff with the right attitude, enthusiasm, and commitment are strongly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
5. Support pupils with ASC, SEMH, and complex needs in classroom and 1:1 settings
6. Deliver adapted learning activities to small intervention groups
7. Help children access learning, develop independence, and build confidence
8. Use communication tools, visual aids, and structured routines to support engagement
9. Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and social interaction
10. Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
11. Support personal care needs where required
About You
12. Caring, patient, and resilient nature
13. Genuine passion for supporting children and young people with SEND
14. Strong communication and teamwork skills
15. Flexible, proactive, and adaptable approach
16. Available full-time from September
17. Experience within schools or SEN settings is desirable
18. Degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field is advantageous
19. Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, sensory regulation strategies, or trauma-informed practice is beneficial (training provided)
