Intermediate Electrical Engineer Location: Southampton (Hybrid) Employment Type: Full-Time Overview We are seeking an Intermediate Electrical Engineer to join a forward-thinking building services consultancy known for delivering innovative and sustainable electrical design solutions. The Intermediate Electrical Engineer will work within a collaborative team environment, contributing to technically challenging projects while building expertise under the guidance of senior engineers.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and develop electrical systems, including power, lighting, fire alarms, data/communications, and security
* Produce accurate design calculations, drawings, specifications, reports, and tender documentation in line with UK standards
* Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver fully integrated MEP solutions
* Participate in site surveys, liaising with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders
* Ensure compliance with building regulations, BS 7671, and CIBSE guidance
* Contribute to technical documentation and project submissions
* Stay updated with emerging technologies, sustainable design practices, and industry regulations
Candidate Profile
* Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical or Building Services Engineering
* 2–5 years’ experience in building services design, either in consultancy or contracting
* Proficient in AutoCAD; experience with Revit is desirable
* Solid understanding of UK wiring regulations, sustainability principles, and best practice
* Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills
* Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team
* Ambitious, motivated, and committed to professional development toward chartership
