An exciting new opportunity has arisen and we are looking for a Bank Band 2 Pharmacy Support Worker at Dr Gray’s Hospital, Elgin - a great place to live and work, lying between the coast of the Moray Firth and the mountains of the Highlands and the Cairngorm National Park. Moray is beautiful and enjoys its own sheltered microclimate. Mountain sports, world class fishing and golf, and the finest whisky are on our doorstep. An excellent quality of life and superb schools are to be found here. Elgin, the county town of Moray has all of the amenities you would expect and is in easy reach of Inverness and Aberdeen. Dr Gray’s Hospital has 185 beds supporting a wide range of specialties.
The Pharmacy Department at Dr Gray’s Hospital provides excellent pharmaceutical care to the patients who use our services. Our pharmacy support workers are expected to take an active role in both pharmacy based and ward activities providing plenty of variation.
Responsibilities
* Support pharmacy activities and participate in ward activities as part of the Pharmacy Department.
* Contribute to patient care with no weekend or on-call requirements.
* Engage in ongoing training as part of the role (SVQ Level 2 is required).
Qualifications and requirements
* Willingness to undertake training to SVQ Level 2.
* Good communication and teamwork for effective collaboration within the Pharmacy Department.
* Compliance with recruitment processes and adjustments if needed for accessibility and inclusion.
Additional information for candidates
* As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata with a corresponding increase in hourly rate so that pay is not affected.
