Multi-Skilled Electrical Engineer - Hydrogen & Electric Vehicles

We're looking for a hands-on R&D Engineer with strong automotive electrical experience and a background in multi-skilled engineering to join our growing team working on hydrogen and battery-electric heavy-duty vehicles.
This role isn't just about electrics - you'll get involved in electrical, mechanical, and hybrid systems integration across a wide range of prototype and development projects. Perfect for someone who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and being part of projects at the cutting edge of vehicle technology.
What you'll be doing
* Designing and building prototype systems - from wiring harnesses to mechanical assemblies
* Developing hybrid hydrogen-electric powertrains for heavy-duty vehicles
* Hands-on installation, testing, and validation of components and systems
* Setting up and configuring CAN-based control systems
* Collecting and analysing performance data to improve designs
* Working across disciplines - electrics, mechanics, controls, and integration
* Collaborating with partners, suppliers, and customers in the UK and abroad
What we're looking for
* Electrical / Automotive Engineering Degree - or equivalent qualification (IMI/NVQ Level 3+ considered with relevant experience)
* Knowledge of high voltage electrical systems and vehicle architecture
* Practical experience with both electrical and mechanical component integration
* Strong understanding of systems such as batteries, BMS, inverters, motor controllers, thermal management
* Ability to read and produce wiring diagrams and technical drawings
* Comfortable in an R&D environment - building, testing, and iterating prototypes
* Team player with good communication and problem-solving skills
Bonus if you have:
* R&D experience in EV, motorsport, or hydrogen
* ISO 26262 functional safety knowledge
* 3D CAD skills
* A real passion for clean-tech and future mobility
