Responsibilities
* Typing and dispatch of clinical correspondence related to NHS medical patients within required quality standards and time limits.
* Effective liaison with the relevant wards and departments within the hospital and with patients and other health care providers associated with the consultant and his/her team to ensure a prompt and effective communication system.
* Assist in the upkeep of departmental clinical admin information and general filing correspondence.
* Receive training to understand the 18‑week RTT process, Trust Patient Access Policy and adherence to national guidelines, waiting list management, and 18‑week guideline.
* Responsible for regular case note maintenance and accurate filing.
* Book and arrange meetings when required.
* Provide support and cover to other areas of the business unit/division and undertake other duties as requested.
* Answer the telephone, take messages and deal with queries as required.
