This opportunity is ideal for an experienced associate, with a background in either electrical, mechanical or sustainability and a demonstrable track record of technical excellence, leadership and management skills while delivering building services solutions across a wide range of projects.
Role Overview
As an Associate Director, you will head their new Manchester office, playing a key leadership role within the business, overseeing project delivery, client relationships, and team development. Whether your background is in mechanical, electrical, or sustainability/building performance engineering, you will be instrumental in shaping the direction of projects and contributing to the strategic growth of the consultancy. You will be expected to have a solid network and excellent business development capabilities to win projects, clients, and continue to grow the office.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading M&E teams and managing complex building services projects from concept to completion.
* Acting as a key point of contact for clients, ensuring high levels of service and technical delivery.
* Supporting the development of junior engineers and contributing to internal training and mentoring.
* Driving innovation and sustainability across projects.
* Leading business development activities and helping to secure new work for the Manchester office.
* Taking part in the recruitment process to hire new talent and expand your team.
* Supporting operational and strategic decisions within the leadership team.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have:
* A degree in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
* Extensive experience in building services design, leadership/management and project leadership.
* Strong technical knowledge in your area of expertise (mechanical, electrical, or sustainability).
* Proven ability to manage client relationships and lead project teams.
* Chartered status (or equivalent) is highly desirable.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and commercial awareness.
