The role
This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading contractor delivering essential streetlighting services that keep Liverpool moving safely. As part of our ongoing Streetlighting Term Service Contract with Liverpool City, we are expanding our team and seeking Trainee and Qualified Traffic Management Operatives to support the delivery of our works across the city.
You will work closely with our direct labour teams, subcontractors, and project managers to ensure safe and compliant traffic management during planned works.
Essential criteria;
Who we are looking for:
* Experience: Previous experience in highways or streetlighting works.
* Qualifications: Valid 12D M1/M2 Ticket (required).
* Knowledge: Ability to read and interpret traffic management drawings.
* Safety Commitment: Commitment to working safely and efficiently as part of a team.
* Driving License: A full clean UK Driving license is required for this role.
Role and responsibilities;
What your role will include:
Traffic Management Setup:
* Installing and maintaining temporary traffic lights, cones, signs, and barriers in line with Chapter 8 requirements.
* Setting up traffic management systems according to CAD drawings and approved designs.
On-Site Safety & Control:
* Managing the safe flow of traffic and ensuring compliance by road users.
* Supporting planned road closures, diversions, and lane restrictions.
* Monitoring and reporting incidents or hazards to the Site or Operations Manager.
Team Collaboration:
* Working with both direct labour and sub-contract teams to achieve targets and deadlines.
* Assisting with loading and unloading of materials as required.
Compliance & Quality:
* Following all Risk Assessments, Method Statements (RAMS), and company procedures.
* Ensuring compliance with the Health & Safety at Work Act and other relevant legislation.
* Reporting any plant or vehicle defects promptly.
