Enforcement Officer / Environmental Health Practitioner This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, talented and ambitious individual to work within our Commercial Services Team. The Team is responsible for food safety, health & safety and mobile homes legislation, and is based across two locations within the Borough; Crewe and Macclesfield. We have a full time Environmental Health Practitioner vacancy, and may also consider part time / job share / term-time only positions as well, where this would meet the needs of both the individual and the service. Environmental Health Practitioner’s in the team are required to meet the Food Standards Agency’s Code of Practice ‘competency framework’ requirements for inspection of food premises. About the Role: Officers are responsible for a varied caseload across the disciplines covered by the Commercial Services Team, including food premises inspections, health & safety initiatives / accident investigations, responding to service requests, sampling and the investigation of food poisoning and outbreak notifications. As part of the wider Regulatory Services Team, Commercial Services Officers work closely with the Trading Standards, Licensing and Environmental Protection services helping with improved service delivery and providing personal development and training opportunities. The role will include the provision of support and advice to individuals and the local business community, and where necessary to take appropriate enforcement action. The team also takes part in the ChESS service (Cheshire East School Support), carrying out in depth audits of school premises. About you: Working as part of a busy team you will need to have a flexible approach to service delivery to meet your personal objectives and the performance standards of the wider team.
