Due to continued growth and successful acquisition, we have a newly created procurement leadership opportunity, developed to bring alignment across our group of companies within the UK and Europe.
As the most senior Procurement specialist, you will be required to own all procurement activity across the group, driving a best practice approach with a focus on cost down initiatives maintaining the highest quality products and services across the supply chain.
You will develop and embed a procurement strategy, monitor the performance of all suppliers and drive continuous improvements across procurement activity, product quality and availability, process and governance and improved supplier service level agreements.

The Journeo group of companies, including Infotec Ltd. where we have a full-scale PCB assembly facility, designs and manufactures systems for the transport industry across, bus, rail, airports and more, including on vehicle and in-station displays and technology products and solutions.
Main Duties
* Responsibility for and management of an annual global spend of over £25m across the group.
* Line management responsibility for a team of purchasing specialists.
* Implementation and management of an agreed procurement strategy which is aligned and supportive of Group strategy.
* Continuously review product sourcing .
* Lead the team effectively, driving achievement of agreed targets and instil a cost conscientious culture.
* Deliver opportunities for harmonisation across the Group, building a common approach with a target of cost reduction and consolidation.
* Take ownership of supplier quality, ensuring products meet specifications and are to the highest standard.
* Monitoring the performance of all suppliers to ensure that all goods and services meet the correct price, quality, and delivery in accordance with specifications and supply agreements.
* Challenge and negotiate all purchase price increase requests from suppliers to achieve the best results, and to report this to the Directors monthly.
* Develop and maintain purchasing policies and procedures paying attention to requirements under the modern slavery act.
* Work with new suppliers in developing the supplier to achieve the level of service required.
* Review sources of supply regularly to ensure the best value for money is achieved at all times.
* Recommend sources of supply, price levels, delivery lead-times and purchasing strategies to be used in business proposals to underpin the establishment of supply agreements.
* Be Influential in managing our inventory levels in line with business objectives, ensuring a suitable material flow through the business.
Qualifications and Experience
* An experienced Purchasing professional from an Electrical / Mechanical Manufacturing environment.
* Qualified to Degree level / MCIPS or able to evidence equivalent experience.
* Demonstrable experience in a lead purchasing role, including a leading role in supplier negotiations.
* Solid experience of managing a team within a purchasing/procurement setting.
* Comprehensive knowledge of the entire Supply Chain
* Excellent problem-solving capabilities.
* A high degree of IT literacy

* Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to influence suppliers, colleagues, and senior management.
* Strong Communications skills, able to understand and discuss complex issues with suppliers and colleagues at all levels of the organisation.
* Creative and innovative with a proven ability to think outside the box.
* Passionate about procurement you will have a continuous improvement mindset.
