The Product Developer manages the end-to-end development cycle of a garment, from the initial design concept to the final production handover. This role is responsible for ensuring the product meets the aesthetic vision, price points, and delivery timelines.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the critical path to ensure all development milestones and delivery dates are met.
* Source fabrics, trims, and components that align with the design brief and the budget.
* Coordinate with the design and technical teams to create accurate Tech Packs for the factories.
* Negotiate costs with suppliers to achieve the required gross margin and target price.
* Monitor the sampling process, ensuring prototypes are delivered on time and meet the quality standards.
* Act as the primary point of contact for global vendors to manage the development of the collection.
Requirements
* Proven experience in product development or sourcing within the fashion industry.
* Strong understanding of garment construction, fabric sourcing, and the manufacturing process.
* Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PLM systems; experience with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
* Highly commercial mindset with strong negotiation and communication skills.
