We’d love to hear from you if you’re: experienced in managing land, nature conservation and access for people, including running small projects and supervising contractors used to developing and running programmes of work to achieve specific goals in conservation or access a strong team player, with a track record in leading and managing staff and volunteers practical and skilled in looking after a range of habitats and landscapes, with certificates in chainsaw use, tractor driving and towing trailers able to work safely, and take the lead on compliance – including writing risk assessments, and safety and environmental procedures happy to talk – with enthusiasm and commitment – to all kinds of people about the work you do and why it matters a driver, with a full UK licence.Area RangerWe’re people focused and ecologically minded. You'll manage this vital green space for the local community and visitors. Reporting to the Lead Ranger, you'll work closely alongside 2 full time experienced Rangers in ensuring the safety and presentation of the park. The park totals 357 acres which includes a tenanted farmer, who will be another key relationship for the Area Ranger. This role is an important part of the wider team in providing in looking after this Grade II* landscape, keeping the place compliant and providing a high quality visitor operation. The Ranger team is also supported by a dedicated group of volunteers who help deliver the routine maintenance. There are lots of opportunities for further training and development in this role and the wider National Trust Ranger network.You’ll support your fellow rangers in undertaking engagement and conservation work.You’ll play a key role in maintaining excellent standards of presentation and property maintenance, delivering vital compliance work across the estate, and successfully achieving Conservation Performance Indicator targets. You’ll build and maintain strong professional relationships with colleagues, contractors, tenants, and neighbouring land managers.You’ll also be responsible for helping with excellent communication of our conservation work to a wide range of audiences, both new and existing, through events, guided walks, and engagement with local communities, so your business ideas will play an important part in the team’s success.You can view the full role profile for this role in the document attached. The parkland is managed by a small but dedicated team, to the highest standards for conservation, access, and wider public benefit.As Area Ranger you’ll be responsible for day-to-day delivery of our land management and operations on property.
