Platform has partnered with a multinational OEM recognised for their industry leading products within industrial drives to grow their advanced Power Electronics R&D team, developing new products from concept to manufacture.
Responsibilities as a Power Electronics Engineer:
+ Design of critical power components for new products & designs
+ Design and develop analogue, digital, and electronic circuits and systems for power electronics
+ Explore emerging technology in the field, innovating ways to incorporate into designs and products
+ Working alongside a talented and multi-disciplinary team consisting of hardware, firmware and mechanical engineers to navigate complex system designs and trade-offs.
Technical Requirements as a Power Electronics Engineer:
+ MEng or MSc in Power Electronics or related discipline experience in a commercial environment
+ Proficiency with SPICE circuit simulation tools
+ Strong understanding of thermal design, DFM, mechanical constraints, and PCB layout + Strong understanding of/experience with SMPS.
Desirable Experience:
+ Charted Engineer status
+ Ability to build prototypes, experimentation on systems and bench test
+ Thermal, mechanical or EMC for motor drives
