Birmingham City Council is one of Europe's largest local authorities, delivering essential services tomunities across the city. The council is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Caretaker to join its team, supporting housing services in the Nechells and Newtown areas.
Your new role
As a Caretaker, you will play a key role in maintaining the safety, cleanliness, and functionality of council-managed properties. You will be responsible for supervising caretaking staff, working directly with tenants, and ensuring that health and safety standards are upheld at all times. This role requires a proactive approach to managing day-to-day site operations and responding to tenant needs. You will also be expected to oversee caretaking duties and ensure thatmunal areas are well maintained andpliant with safety regulations. This is a full time role, Monday - Friday.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you must have previous experience in a supervisory or caretaking position, strong interpersonal skills for working with tenants, and a solid understanding of health and safety practices. A full, clean UK driving license is essential, as you will be required to travel between sites in Nechells and Newtown.
