We’re looking for a Senior Network Engineer to join our Infrastructure Services team in Peterborough.

In this role, you will take ownership of monitoring, supporting, and evolving Bauer’s network infrastructure. You’ll use your expertise to keep services running smoothly, diagnose and resolve issues, and deliver improvements that strengthen our future network landscape.
You will play a key part in supporting business-critical operations, leading on network changes, optimising performance, and delivering solutions that enable our teams to thrive. Your experience, insights and curiosity will help shape how we design and operate our networks going forward.

You’ll collaborate closely with Infrastructure colleagues across projects, incident response and operational support—every voice counts here, and your ideas will be welcomed.
Working Pattern / Location
This role is Peterborough-based with hybrid working.
Key Responsibilities
• Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Lead delivery of network projects (switch refreshes, firewalls, cloud connectivity).
• Identify and resolve performance issues across complex systems.
• Provide escalation support for network-related incidents.
• Produce clear procedural documentation for IT colleagues and customers.
• Work directly with carriers and third parties to resolve issues.
• Share knowledge across the team and contribute to project planning.
What We Are Looking For
• Extensive experience working independently with network technologies.
• Strong knowledge of Cisco hardware (Catalyst, Nexus, ISR, ASA) and Palo Alto firewalls.
• Confident using Cisco IOS, VLANs, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP.
• Experience with WAN, MPLS, VPN (SSL & IPSEC), and wireless systems (., Meraki).
• Familiar with monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Zabbix).
• Highly organised, collaborative and an excellent communicator.
• Analytical and methodical approach to troubleshooting.
• Comfortable working in high-availability environments.
