Quantity Surveyor – Civils Location: Ipswich Salary: £70k car allowance and benefits Type: Permanent We are currently working on behalf of a well-established and respected civil engineering contractor who is seeking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of a strong pipeline of infrastructure and civil engineering projects. This role would suit a Quantity Surveyor with proven experience in civils, infrastructure, highways, utilities, or related sectors, looking to join a stable business offering long-term progression. The Role Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for the commercial management of civil engineering projects from pre-construction through to final account. Key responsibilities include: Commercial management of civils and infrastructure projects Preparation and submission of valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts Cost planning, budgeting, and forecasting throughout the project lifecycle Procurement and commercial management of subcontractors and suppliers Management of variations, change control, and contractual entitlements Production of cost value reconciliations (CVRs) and commercial reports Working closely with site teams to ensure accurate cost control Liaising with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders About You To be considered for this role, you will have: Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the civil engineering sector Strong knowledge of civil engineering works such as earthworks, drainage, roads, utilities, or structures Good understanding of construction contracts (NEC/JCT experience preferred) Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail Excellent communication and negotiation skills Relevant construction or commercial qualifications (preferred) To be considered for this role please apply with your CV or for more information contact Jenny Saban in our Cambridge office
